All Star Weekend 2019 Recap

All Star 2019 in Charlotte, NC was one for the books! It was an eventful weekend here! From the launch of our Air Jordan 6 to Michael Jordan and a range of other celebs stopping by the store. Here's a full recap of all events that took place at our Charlotte flagship location. 

 

Women Within Panel 

We had the pleasure of bringing together Rox Brown, Melody Ehsani and Ivy Sole to discuss the progression within their careers and some of the obstacles faced when being a female in a male driven industry. Melody Ehsani owns a brand, Rox Brown is an influencer/stylist and Ivy Sole owns a record label. All of them have had to endure trials and hardships on their journey and they were transparent about it in this panel. In addition to the panel, female influencers Sasha Elina and Alani Figueroa hosted a workshop where ladies were allowed to create vision boards.

 

 

Social Status x Rokit x Nike Block Party 

Social Status joined forces with Nike and Rokit during All Star weekend for a Block Party that featured an interactive skate ramp, an NBA live booth as well as food trucks. An eclectic community of skaters, creatives, consumers and visitors were all in attendance.

Wings Charity Event 

We had the honor of partnering with Jordan Brand’s Wings Program to give out scholarships to youth in the city of Charlotte. Winners of the scholarship were all employees of the Whitaker Group who are currently attending college. The names are as followed: Victoria Dorsett, Keisha Correa and Darelle Pressley. 

Wings x Shoe Surgeon Event 

 We partnered with Jordan Brand’s Wings Program and The Shoe Surgeon for an interactive workshop for the children who are apart of the Wings Program. The children were allowed to deconstruct sneakers and also get an in-depth look at The Shoe Surgeon’s process.

Cuts 4 Kids

During all star weekend, we hosted our Cuts 4 Kids event in partnership with Nike. Free haircuts for children ages 12 and under were provided by Premiere Barber Lounge. A few dozen children were in attendance to receive a free haircut. 

Own The Progress 720 Workshop

To compliment the release of the Nike Air More Uptempo 720, we hosted a workshop where consumers were allowed to use their imagination to determine what Nike Air means to them. Consumers were given different material to interpret the definition.
