As expected, Nike’s stance as the official outfitter of the NFL gives it the prerogative to go all out in celebrating the Super Bowl with some special sneaker releases. On tap for XLVIII, which is set to go down in the greater NYC area, comes not one, not two, but THREE limited edition sets, each equipped with some serious bling.

The Air Trainer 1 Mid is easily the blingiest of the trio, completely decked out with an all prismatic overlay and iced soles. Only for the flashiest of the flashy.

Don’t let looks fool you, compared to its older sibling the Air Trainer Max ’94 only looks restrained, but further examination will reveal that it’s quite flamboyant in its own right. In addition to the collection’s signature lenticular accents, the ’94 also sports holographic paneling and 3M on the toe cap and mud guards – which also happen to boast an aggressively stylized rendition of the Big Apple skyline. More Gotham than the other pairs, this one is for the street.

Although technically part of Nike’s Silver Speed collection, this update to the classic 180 still shares in the group aesthetic and dons the twin goalpost insignia. Featuring a lightweight version of the original upper crafted in Hyperfuse and synthetics, the design boasts a brand new sole unit that pairs a 180 Max Air heel unit with Lunarlon and Free-like siping at the forefoot. Capped off with a few hits of the shimmer, this updated rendition of the 180 blends classic and contemporary just right for the modern athletic appeal.
