Talk about appropriate timing; as I post this I’m also trying my best to fairly split my attention with an enthralling Game 6 effort by the Cards (down 9-8 in the bottom of the 10th, two on, two out and two strikes). As the last iteration of the Air Max Jr was a subdued yet welcome departure from the traditional crayola-esque colorways of releases past – much like Griffey’s abbreviated tenure with the White Sox, the team that inspired said colorway. So it should go without saying that this pair is obviously an homage to Jr’s days with Sr’s OG club, the Reds. With nearly all tonal red uppers featuring only marginal hits of white, there’s no such thing as blending in with these. But then again, you don’t cop new Nikes just to blend in.

Update: David Freese just hit a walk-off. Game 7 here we come!
