I love being able to be apart of something that brings light to true talent, such as this month’s “Artist Of The Month” which showcases Photographer Larissa Rancurello. Here’s a little background on the woman behind these amazing images.

“Larissa Rancurello was born on March 25, 1991 in Uzbekistan, Russia. On her 16 birthday Larissa received her first camera, and discovered a passion for photography. Local photographer Ron Richards, impressed with her talent offered to have her work as an intern at his studio. During this internship she learned about image editing. She had the opportunity to observe various photo sessions. This gave her experience in lighting, working with clients and creating interesting compositions.

From this experience she gained confidence in her art and decided to apply to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Larissa expects to graduate in the spring of 2013 with her Bachelor of Science degree. Larissa’s work was selected for the Student Show and was displayed at the Don & Dali Lupus Awareness exhibition. Larissa is admired by her professors and fellow students for taking risks with her photography and for working outside the box. She excels at dance photography and editorial photography and has had experience with event photography. She strongly believes: “I had rather attempt something great and fail, than to attempt nothing at all and succeed.”

and with images like that, you can see why we chose her, so come support your local artist!
