Girls Jordan 12 Retro GS – Black/Siren Red…

11 May, 2012 | Charlotte, Sneakers

By this point, it shouldn’t be a surprise to see Jordan drop a girl’s pair flaunting way more spunk than that of the men’s. It’s just a foregone conclusion within the sneaker world that, women’s kicks always come in better flavors. Yes, I said it. I – with my goatee, chest hair, and size 10 feet – think these are dope. After 15 years of seeing 12′s done in basic (but classic) color schemes, it’s cool to see what happens when JB deviates just a bit. Doubling Tripling up on the flashiness with a metallic silver, patent, and pebbled leather strip, along with the already hard-to-miss hits of red, this GS exclusive is proof that subtle doesn’t always equal stylish. Sometimes you need the funk.

Nike Zoom Kobe VII System – Concord/Cool Grey/Del Sol…

11 May, 2012 | Charlotte, Sneakers

Even though the Kobe VII took the next step in evolution with the Elites, there’s still a pretty sizable fan base for the Mambas in traditional form. With Kobe’s typically running hot all the way through Fall, nobody was expecting to see the System editions fall off by much. What these may lack in glamour is more than made up for in classic appeal. The subtle juxtaposition of Concord and Del Sol may have more attention hungry heads backing off, but for the pure of heart, the Lakers legacy colorway shows that the Kobe still values fundamentals over flash.

New Hundreds In Stock…

11 May, 2012 | Charlotte, Headgear, Tshirts

Ben and Bobby just keep piling it on. Even though this shipment is a significant drop off from the near bottomless pit that made up the first release, the gear in delivery 2.0 is pretty much equivalent to topping off an already full gas tank. I don’t think I’ve ever said this before, but I think it’s safe to assume that we’re pretty much set on t-shirts and tanks. Now, if we could just bring on some shorts…

Play Cloths Wildlife Capsule…

6 May, 2012 | Charlotte, Headgear, Pants, Tshirts

Lions and tigers and b-,…

Leopards and tigers and zebras? Oh well.

Okay, so the classic Wizard of Oz chant doesn’t quite apply here, but you get the point. The guys at Play Cloths broke off the yellow brick road and took it back to the jungle, putting together one of the most unique collections in recent memory. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen this much animal print beyond the confines of a fur shop, but PC’s actually pulled this off rather nicely. If safari stripes and spots are your thing, then this drop is for you. Honestly, I can’t wait to see the first fit pic of someone roaming the wilds in an all zebra get up. A$AP, Ye, and Weezy combined ain’t that animoo.

RESTOCK – Huf…

6 May, 2012 | Charlotte, Headgear, Tshirts

If you weren’t in the know before, you should be now. The last drop from Huf started getting shopped almost as soon as we opened the box. I don’t know whether or not they’d ever even heard of the brand, but they certainly were eager to be the first to cop. So much had gone before the week was out that we knew we’d need another run soon. Here’s hoping that this re-up doesn’t sit around either.

Take a closer look @ what’s in this drop here

RESTOCK – “Camo” Air Force 1 Low Max Air VT…

6 May, 2012 | Charlotte, Sneakers

When these dropped a few weeks back, sleepers didn’t even have time to wipe the cold out their eyes before they disappeared. Ever since, heads who missed out have been blowing up the phone in search of a restock. So to give those guys a chance, I held off a couple days on posting this just to make sure they didn’t lose twice (don’t say we never look out), but now it’s time to let the masses get theirs. By now you all should know that restocks area a Godsend, so this run’s a little more limited than the last. Make sure you get in here quick before they’re all gone.

Nike LeBron 9 P.S. Elite – Varsity Maize…

4 May, 2012 | Charlotte, Sneakers

From under the radar to mass hype. In the throws of what’s already looking to be one hell of a post season, yet another major LeBron is making rounds. As bold as ever, the Varsity Maize Elites haven’t even dropped yet, but are already breaking necks of anyone who happens to casually glance through the shop windows. Not quite as readily anticipated as the you know what’s, this pair, with it’s overtly loud paneling and earlier release date, sprang into the minds of fiends rather abruptly. Although nicknamed the “Taxis” by some, the yellow/black setup was rather inspired by Jason Petrie and Leo Chang’s re-interpretation of the Miami team colors. But the speckled bubble may lead some heads with keen eyes and clear memories to hearken back to Kobe’s Bruce Lee V’s. With the largely Nike brokered Kobe/LeBron rivalry in full force, it’s not hard to imagine these as King Jame’s answer to one of the Black Mamba’s most famous editions. But then again, Kobe doesn’t have a South Beach.

Nike LeBron 9 Low – Team Red…

4 May, 2012 | Charlotte, Sneakers

Now here’s something you don’t see every day. Even though LeBron lows have never been able to garner the same sort of attention as their hardwood rocked counterparts, for one to have flown in under the radar in such a manner as these is almost unheard of in the modern sneaker community. It’s not that nobody cared, but it’s hard to shine when brighter flames are constantly being kindled around you. Perhaps that’s what happened here. And Sporting a colorway that’s, possibly the most down-tuned of the releases thus far, it’s easy to understand why.

But if there’s one thing that the lows have on the highs, its the effects that get crammed in. From what we’ve seen prior releases it seems that the lows are a bit more adept at doing more with less – as evidenced with the iridescent skin. Paired with hits of Challenge red and blaze orange for a tonal-yet-contrasted appeal, these lows offer one of the more subtle (at least as far as LeBrons go) of the non-uniform pairs, and will likely become more appreciated as time passes.

Nike Roshe Run – Black/ Sport Red…

4 May, 2012 | Charlotte, Sneakers

As a proud owner of our first pair, let me say that I am not liable for any obvious bias that may present itself in this post. So to keep things from getting out of hand too quickly, let me keep this short. With the Roshe Run, Nike hit on something BIG. Lightweight, trendy and affordable, the likely front runner for any sneaker blog’s “Newcomer of the Year” award are very much likely the most comfortable shoes you will ever put on your feet. My pair’s been through the ringer non-stop for the past 2 weeks (activities ranging from biking, jogging, working and casual wear) and I’m still in awe. Of course, as a habitual Vans wearer the arch and cushion couldn’t have been more of a break from tradition. But even Vans don’t come in flavors like this. Obviously. black and red are a combo that’s been worked into oblivion, but like the pictures show, Sport red apparently isn’t your ordinary hue. If people aren’t checking your feet for the silhouette, they’re definitely gonna be stuck on the color.

Oh well, so much for keeping things short. Nike tends to have that effect.

Artist Of The Month…

4 May, 2012 | Artist of the Month, Events, Pittsburgh

Another month, another talent. As time has gone on we’ve begun to delve deeper and deeper into the local art scene, and as such, more and more artists have began to reach out to us. This month’s featured works come by way of yet another Steel City native, Jordan Beckham. Now those outside the local or major media scenes may not be familiar with the name – oh but please believe, you’re well acquainted with the work.

As usual, we’ll be holding an in-store event for the premier gallery showing (Friday, May 4th) at our spot on Liberty. And with these events catching on, one can expect an even longer “Who’s Who?” list to be in attendance. We’d like to send a special thanks to the peeps @ Rocksmith Jenesis and the Vanity Group for helping us put this on, along with Shef Shaun/ Sola Gratia for the food and Clique Vodka for the Drinks, Dj Freaky Bril holding us down on the 1′s & 2′s, and of course, our Man of the Hour, Jordan Beckham for the main attraction. See you folks there.

You can check out a brief bio and more of Jordan’s work after the jump, or hit up his site @ jordanbeckham.com
